About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Planning Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position responsible for program-level planning and scheduling activities, reporting directly to the Project Controls Manager. The role requires a demonstrated ability to integrate schedules, identify and resolve scheduling problems, and analyze and present schedule impact analyses within a fixed-price environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Planning Manager provides general schedule guidance, direction, and oversight to deployed planning teams, supervises and manages assigned staff, and implements project training requirements related to project procedures, tools, and systems. Responsibilities also include:

  • Directing all program-level schedule development and maintenance monitoring activities.
  • Developing, interpreting, and executing policy objectives and standards applicable to schedule maintenance and monitoring functions.
  • Overseeing the implementation of milestone schedules, engineering/procurement/construction closeout monitoring, including documentation and planned maintenance activities.
  • Managing the preparation of subject-specific schedules on an as-required basis, including schedules for the Consortium and subcontractors when necessary.
  • Managing contract notice and reporting requirements.
  • Directing schedule analysis/study and problem-solving activities.
  • Developing and interpreting guidelines applicable to the analysis function.
  • Directing schedule reporting activities and providing assistance and guidance for the display or presentation of schedule information.
  • Maintaining required interfaces internal to the Joint Venture and with the Consortium Partner, including scope change control, risk, and Consortium reporting as necessary.
  • Providing guidance to the project director on overall schedule impacts and solutions.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates for this role should possess a strong background in planning and scheduling within complex project environments. The position requires:

  • Over 10 years of experience in relevant planning and scheduling roles.
  • Demonstrated skill in integrating schedules and identifying scheduling problems.
  • Ability to analyze, develop, and present schedule impact analysis in a fixed-price environment.
  • Experience in providing guidance to planning teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working within a project controls team. The role requires collaboration with internal joint venture teams, consortium partners, and subcontractors, often in a dynamic project setting.
