About KBR and the Project

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Project Controls Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role supports a major infrastructure program for a mixed-use development. The project aims to establish a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic, self-sustaining destination within Riyadh, featuring several iconic assets. KBR provides Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services, covering project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and the implementation of development and early works packages.

The Role of Project Controls Manager

Reporting directly to the Project Director, the Project Controls Manager is responsible for the comprehensive development, implementation, and management of project controls services. This includes overseeing planning, estimating, cost control, risk management, and document control. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the provision of accurate and proactive reporting, enabling effective project oversight and informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project controls team effectively.
  • Develop and implement the project controls execution strategy to achieve contract requirements.
  • Establish project controls standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project controls with the program management team.
  • Establish and manage the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and the project master schedule.
  • Establish and manage the Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), project budget, and cost control processes.
  • Establish and manage the project risk management plan.
  • Establish and manage document control systems.
  • Establish and manage change control procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze project progress, cost, and risk.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly and weekly project reports.
  • Prepare and conduct presentations as required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of overall relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience specifically in project roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years of regional experience.
  • Required professional memberships and charterships: MRICS or MCIOB.
  • Sound knowledge of all engineering and commercial aspects pertinent to major civil and infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and utilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of CPM networks, resource and cost loading, and risk management techniques.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East is considered advantageous.
