Project Engineer Civil (Substation)

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Project Engineer - Civil (Substation) to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on the management, supervision, and successful execution of civil works within 380 kV substation projects.

Project Scope and Compliance

The Project Engineer will play a critical role in high-voltage (HV/MV) substation projects, ensuring all civil construction activities adhere strictly to Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) standards, contractual requirements, and rigorous safety and quality guidelines. This involves comprehensive oversight from planning through to project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, monitor, and control all civil construction activities at the substation site, including foundations, control building, cable trenches, equipment foundations, roads, and fencing.
• Ensure all works are executed in compliance with SEC standards, drawings, and specifications.
• Review civil designs, drawings, and shop drawings, coordinating with engineering consultants/contractors for approvals.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders, including SEC representatives, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure timely progress.
• Plan and schedule civil construction activities to meet project timelines and milestones.
• Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, conduct inspections, and ensure adherence to project QA/QC requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards at the project site.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation such as daily progress reports, inspection requests, and material approvals.
• Assist in resolving technical issues, variations, and claims related to civil works.
• Support the Project Manager in progress meetings and provide input on civil work status and challenges.
• Ensure timely completion and handover of civil works to enable the installation of electrical equipment and overall substation commissioning.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 0-1 years of relevant professional experience. A foundational understanding of substation civil construction practices is essential for success in this role.
