About WSP in the Middle East

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the construction supervision of major infrastructure projects, particularly within the roads and highways sector.

The Role: Project Manager (Roads & Highways)

The Project Manager will lead the construction supervision efforts for significant transportation infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and tunnels. This position requires a proven track record in delivering major projects within the construction consultancy sector, specifically in Saudi Arabia or the wider Gulf region. The role demands effective leadership, technical oversight, robust contract administration, and proactive stakeholder coordination to ensure project delivery is timely, cost-effective, and meets quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the construction supervision team for major infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, highways, and tunnels.
  • Manage day-to-day project operations, ensuring compliance with contract documents, specifications, quality standards, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, subconsultants, and government authorities to resolve technical and contractual issues.
  • Prepare and manage project schedules, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and health, safety & environmental (HSE) compliance on-site.
  • Review and approve project documentation such as method statements, shop drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
  • Monitor contractor performance, track delays or variations, and support the preparation of change orders and claims.
  • Lead progress meetings and provide regular reporting to senior management and the client.
  • Ensure project milestones and deliverables are met within budget and on schedule.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in construction supervision of infrastructure projects. A strong background in major transportation projects within the construction consultancy sector is essential, particularly with a proven track record in Saudi Arabia or the Gulf region.

Skills and Attributes

The ideal candidate will demonstrate effective leadership capabilities, strong technical oversight, proficiency in contract administration, and excellent stakeholder coordination skills. The ability to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality project delivery is paramount for this role.
