About the Role

National Medical Care Company (Care) is seeking a Radiology Specialist to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves performing a variety of radiological procedures for both in-patients and out-patients. The specialist will apply prescribed ionizing and non-ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, working in accordance with established departmental procedures and physician instructions.

The position requires comprehensive knowledge of radiological equipment usage, body density measurements, and anatomical terminology to ensure accurate imaging. Work performed will be reviewed by a Senior Technologist or Physician upon completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate immobile and mobile radiologic equipment.
  • Position patients appropriately, ensuring comfort and preventing aggravation of injury or organ distortion in films.
  • Check diagnostic quality and proper positioning of images.
  • Center the machine at the correct angles and height over the area to be X-rayed.
  • Measure the density of the area to be X-rayed and compute exposure time for optimal detail, density, contrast, and freedom from distortion.
  • Assist Radiologists in various procedures and during examinations in designated positions.
  • Measure and mix solutions such as Barium and kaolin.
  • Maintain properly identified records and files.
  • Keep the work area clean and orderly.
  • Instruct students in radiologic methods and techniques as assigned.

Patient Care and Education

  • Ensure superior quality of medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for every patient.
  • Educate patients and families according to their needs, adhering to patient and family education policies and procedures, including documentation in medical records.
  • Involve patients and families in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
  • Provide health promotion and teaching through methods appropriate to the patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference, culture, and specific situations.
  • Allot necessary time to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education, ensuring appropriate documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiological Technology.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Radiology, specifically in a role similar to this position.
  • Extensive experience in one or more subspecialties of imaging.

Required Licenses

  • Current license to practice radiography in the permanent place of residence.
  • Professional license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
