About the Regional Medical Science Liaison Role

CSL is seeking a Regional Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This field-based scientific expert will be responsible for advancing CSL's nephrology portfolio across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The role involves non-promotional scientific exchange, stakeholder engagement, evidence-generation support, and medical education. Approximately 80% of working time is expected to be spent in the field, requiring extensive travel across KSA and UAE, with occasional regional or international travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain scientific partnerships with nephrologists and other relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and execute strategic engagement plans for key opinion leaders, emerging experts, and scientific stakeholders.
  • Deliver balanced, accurate, compliant, and non-promotional scientific information, and respond to unsolicited medical information requests.
  • Implement country and cluster field medical plans for nephrology, translating global and regional objectives into local execution.
  • Develop and execute engagement plans for relevant nephrology scientific societies and professional associations.
  • Represent Medical Affairs at national, regional, and international nephrology congresses, translating learnings into actionable insights.
  • Organize and support scientific meetings, advisory boards, symposia, and educational activities.
  • Systematically collect, analyze, document, and communicate actionable medical insights from healthcare professionals and scientific societies.
  • Identify opportunities for investigator-initiated studies, collaborative research, registries, and real-world evidence generation.
  • Partner with Medical Managers, Market Access, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, HEOR, and Patient Advocacy functions while maintaining Medical Affairs independence.

Therapeutic Area Focus

The role will focus on advancing CSL's portfolio within specific therapeutic areas. These include:

  • IgA nephropathy (IgAN)
  • Rare glomerular diseases
  • Chronic kidney disease-related therapeutic areas
  • Future nephrology pipeline assets

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role requires a scientific background and the ability to engage effectively with medical professionals and scientific leaders. Strong communication skills and adherence to ethical standards and company policies are essential.

Work Environment and Collaboration

This position operates as the primary Medical Affairs interface with nephrologists, scientific leaders, investigators, healthcare institutions, and relevant medical and patient societies. The MSL will provide scientific expertise and field-based perspectives to support strategic decision-making, ensuring all activities comply with applicable company policies, local regulations, ethical standards, data-privacy requirements, and pharmacovigilance responsibilities.
