Scheduling Control Section Head

About the Role

HILL INTERNATIONAL is seeking a Scheduling Control Section Head to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The Section Head will also be responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing regular reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software.
• Monitor and track project progress, ensuring adherence to schedule milestones.
• Identify and analyze potential risks and delays, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and up-to-date project schedules.
• Provide regular reports and updates on project schedules to management and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Observe existing processes, analyze staff performance, and address deficiencies accordingly.
• Train and mentor scheduling control staff.
• Monitor and track project progress, write ad hoc reports, and attend/schedule meetings as required.
• Understand and meet all contract requirements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in project scheduling and control.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize project schedules and resource allocation, ensuring all projects are completed on time and within budgets.
• Inform themselves of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures within Hill International, and ensure continued compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in planning and scheduling, including experience as a scheduling manager on large-scale projects.
• Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, both in the field and the home office.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training of technical and non-technical personnel.
• Ability to lead the section and allocate workload to the team.
• Skilled in verbal and written communication.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired through specialized instruction or practical experience.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present schedule products independently with minimal supervision, utilizing professional judgment and knowledge of technical planning, scheduling, engineering design, construction, and procurement practices.
• Professional user of scheduling software such as Primavera P6 and EPPM platform.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a professional project management environment.
