About the Role: Security Architect
IT Security Training & Solutions - I(TS)2 is seeking a dedicated and experienced Security Architect to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for securing enterprise information by defining security requirements, planning and implementing robust security systems, and establishing comprehensive security standards, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will also play a key role in mentoring team members and fostering a strong security culture.
Key Responsibilities and Strategic Impact
As a Security Architect, you will be responsible for anticipating potential security threats, identifying vulnerabilities within network systems, and responding effectively to security breaches. This position requires a thorough understanding of complex IT and security systems, alongside a commitment to staying current with the latest security standards, authentication protocols, and best practice security products. Your contributions will directly enhance the security posture of the organization.
Core Accountabilities
- Review current system security measures, recommending and implementing necessary enhancements.
- Conduct regular system tests and ensure continuous monitoring of network security.
- Develop project timelines for ongoing system upgrades and security initiatives.
- Establish disaster recovery procedures and conduct regular security breach drills.
- Respond promptly to all security incidents and provide thorough post-event analyses.
- Cultivate a culture of security awareness and arrange continuing education for personnel to ensure policy adherence.
- Create solutions that effectively balance business requirements with information and cybersecurity needs.
- Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures, recommending appropriate changes or enhancements.
- Enhance the security team's accomplishments and competence by planning solution delivery, answering technical and procedural questions, teaching improved processes, and mentoring less experienced team members.
Technical Planning and Implementation
- Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies, researching information security standards, conducting system security and vulnerability analyses, performing risk assessments, studying architecture/platform, identifying integration issues, and preparing cost estimates.
- Plan security systems by evaluating network and security technologies, developing requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related devices, and designing public key infrastructures (PKIs), including certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures.
- Implement security systems by specifying intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, directing installation and calibration, preparing preventive and reactive measures, managing cryptographic keys, providing technical support, and completing documentation.
- Verify security systems through the development and implementation of test scripts.
- Maintain and upgrade security systems by monitoring the security environment, ensuring compliance with standards, conducting incident response analyses, developing training programs, identifying security gaps, and evaluating and implementing enhancements.
- Prepare system security reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data and trends.
- Update job knowledge by tracking emerging security practices and standards, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and engaging with professional networks and organizations.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in a relevant security architecture or engineering role.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of complex IT and security systems.
- Proven ability to stay current with the latest security standards, systems, authentication protocols, and best practice security products.
Work Environment and Commitment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a proactive approach to security and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development to maintain a strong security posture for the organization.
