About the Senior Audit Role

Deloitte Saudi Arabia is seeking a Senior Audit professional to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on the Utilities and Energy sector, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities of a Senior Auditor

As a Senior in the Utilities and Energy sector, you will be responsible for demonstrating and developing capabilities in the following areas:

  • Build trust and credibility with stakeholders by understanding their service level expectations and individual priorities.
  • Deliver high-quality services, demonstrating practical awareness of regulation and risk management impact on business processes and controls.
  • Understand key statistics and industry matters related to the entity before engagement commencement.
  • Adapt template referral instructions to clearly outline the scope of procedures and audit focus areas.
  • Understand the structure of group audits and the intended recipients of referral instructions.
  • Liaise effectively with onshore and offshore Centers of Excellence for task delivery, understanding delegated work scope and the importance of accurate information.
  • Assist in tracking deliverables from component auditors and understanding their relevance and importance.
  • Appropriately link risks, controls, procedures, and findings from allocated sections across the EMS file on a timely basis.
  • Articulate audit quality milestones, team demonstration of completeness, and their contribution to overall audit quality.
  • Understand the rationale behind audit plan timings and be prepared to challenge whether work can be performed earlier.
  • Prepare documentation by anticipating reviewer questions and distinguishing accounting judgments from auditing judgments.
  • Develop relationships beyond the finance function to better understand the entity's business and apply professional skepticism.
  • Maintain practical awareness of engagement lifecycle risks, the regulatory environment, and relevant practice protection policies.

  • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in an audit role, ideally within the Utilities and Energy sector.
  • Proven ability to manage audit engagements, supervise staff, and ensure deliverables meet specifications.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory impact, risk management, and audit quality milestones.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with stakeholders.
