Role Summary

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Senior Clinical Engineer, Biomed Support & Technology for a full-time position. This role involves supervising and leading medical technology service teams within the Clinical Engineering Department, providing essential operational and technical support for medical devices and systems used in patient healthcare and research.

About the Department

As the senior operational and technical resource for an assigned team, the Senior Clinical Engineer will guide teams responsible for the maintenance and support of medical diagnostic, therapeutic, and analytical devices and systems. This position is critical in ensuring the continuous and effective operation of vital medical technology across KFSHRC's applied patient healthcare and research functions.

Core Responsibilities

• Coordinate all operational and technical support services provided by the assigned service section.
• Ensure the quality of service delivered by Clinical Engineer I’s, Clinical Engineer II’s, Clinical Engineering Technicians, SCDP’s, Interns, and other assigned personnel, as well as by external service providers.
• Monitor the productivity and quality of work performed by all assigned service teams within the section.
• Train and orient assigned staff, ensuring they have the necessary operational and technical materials for productivity and effectiveness.
• Develop servicing procedures and schedules for medical devices as required.
• Assist in the overall performance appraisal and development of educational plans for assigned staff to ensure individual effectiveness.
• Develop and implement solutions for engineering problems related to clinical and research equipment.
• Design, fabricate, and modify medical technology when necessary.
• Advise on the utilization and adoption of new and existing medical technology within KFSHRC.
• Coordinate the ordering of technical materials required for the technical support of assigned medical technology.
• Provide or coordinate medical equipment user education and instruction as required.
• Actively participate in assigned KFSHRC committees and adhere to all Hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in personal and team education, training, and development as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• A valid license from the country of origin is required.
• For candidates with a Master’s Degree: Four (4) years of related experience in a hospital environment, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
• For candidates with a Bachelor's Degree: Six (6) years of related experience in a hospital environment, including two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.

Essential Skills and Competencies

Candidates must demonstrate competency in using the Clinical Engineering medical technology database and other related computer software programs. Strong leadership, technical problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for effectively managing teams and supporting complex medical technology within a hospital environment.
