About Mace and the Project
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to deliver complex projects globally. We are seeking a Senior Construction Manager (Secondary Assets and Stables) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is part of one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia, a major mixed-use development that includes sports facilities, entertainment venues, arts districts, and extensive associated infrastructure.
Role Overview
This is a delivery-focused position responsible for overseeing construction activities across a portfolio of works. The Senior Construction Manager will manage contractor performance, ensure adherence to programme milestones, maintain quality standards, and uphold safety objectives. Collaboration with project management, commercial, project controls, and technical teams is essential to ensure successful delivery within programme, budget, and quality parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the construction delivery of assigned packages from mobilisation through to completion and handover.
- Manage and oversee main contractors, subcontractors, and site supervision teams.
- Monitor site progress against programme milestones and implement mitigation measures as required.
- Drive construction productivity and ensure delivery objectives are achieved.
- Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate construction activities across multiple stakeholders and disciplines.
- Review contractor methodologies, recovery plans, and short-term programmes.
- Manage site risks, constraints, and interface issues to minimise disruption to delivery.
- Support project controls and commercial teams with progress reporting, change management, and contractual matters.
- Chair construction progress meetings and coordinate site-based workshops.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements at all times.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, snagging, defect resolution, and handover activities.
- Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, key issues, and mitigation actions.
- Support operational readiness and transition activities prior to handover.
- Oversee multidisciplinary coordination, stakeholder engagement, and district-wide interfaces to ensure seamless, high-quality delivery.
- Ensure strict adherence to execution plans, technical standards, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and project documentation, proactively resolving design or contract gaps.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience delivering major construction projects.
- Proven experience managing large-scale building or infrastructure packages through the construction phase.
- Demonstrable experience overseeing main contractors on complex developments.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary site teams within fast-paced delivery environments.
- Experience within a PMC, client-side, Delivery Partner, or programme management environment is preferred.
- Professional accreditation such as MCIOB, PMP, RICS, or equivalent is advantageous.
- Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, temporary works, and site logistics.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and construction best practice.
- Experience managing programme, quality, risk, and delivery performance.
- Ability to build effective relationships with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
