Senior Engineer Building Technology Systems (BMS)

About the Role

WSP is seeking a Senior Engineer - Building Technology Systems (BMS) to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves supporting the design and delivery of Building Management Systems and smart building solutions for a diverse range of projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in building automation, controls, monitoring, and system integration, ensuring designs meet project requirements and industry standards.

Role Context and Contribution

As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute technical expertise within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on BMS systems, HVAC controls, and integrated building technologies. Your involvement will span the design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases of projects, ensuring the successful implementation of advanced building technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver Building Management System (BMS) designs for commercial, healthcare, hospitality, aviation, residential, and mixed-use developments.
• Prepare design calculations, system architecture diagrams, control schematics, points schedules, sequences of operation, technical specifications, and design reports.
• Coordinate BMS designs with mechanical, electrical, ELV, ICT, security, lighting control, and energy management systems.
• Support the production and review of drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, material submittals, and technical proposals for compliance with design intent.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination meetings and assist in resolving technical and integration challenges.
• Provide technical input during design development, detailed design, tender, and construction stages.
• Respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and support the management of design changes during project delivery.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installation quality and conformance with approved designs and specifications.
• Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover activities to ensure operational performance of BMS installations.
• Assist in the implementation of smart building, sustainability, energy efficiency, and digital building initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and cybersecurity considerations for connected building systems.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare technical reports and progress updates.
• Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Building Technology Systems, specifically with BMS.
• Demonstrated strong technical knowledge of BMS systems, HVAC controls, and integrated building technologies.
• Experience with design delivery across various building project types.
• Ability to prepare detailed design documentation and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines.
