About the Role

MOBCO Group is seeking a Senior Contract Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves overseeing the contractual and legal aspects of construction projects across various locations within Saudi Arabia, ensuring the company's contractual interests are protected throughout the project lifecycle.

Role Scope and Objectives

The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive contract administration, ensuring contractual compliance, and managing claims, change orders, and potential disputes. This role requires proactive identification of contractual risks and the development of mitigation strategies to safeguard the company's position in all construction-related agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage construction contracts from project award through close-out.
  • Review, interpret, and monitor compliance with contract terms, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Prepare, evaluate, and manage contractual correspondence with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Review and assess Variation Orders (VOs), Extension of Time (EOT) claims, and other contractual claims.
  • Identify contractual risks and recommend mitigation strategies to protect company interests.
  • Draft contractual notices, responses, and formal communications in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Commercial, Planning, Procurement, Engineering, and Legal teams on contractual matters.
  • Review tender documents, contractual conditions, and commercial terms during the bidding stage.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, milestones, deliverables, and key project deadlines.
  • Support dispute avoidance and resolution through proper contract administration and documentation.
  • Maintain complete contractual records and ensure proper document control.
  • Prepare contractual reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in negotiations related to contracts, claims, settlements, and contractual amendments.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in contract administration within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience on large-scale building, infrastructure, industrial, or mega projects.

Specialized Knowledge and Preferred Attributes

  • Strong understanding of FIDIC Conditions of Contract and international contract management practices.
  • GCC experience, preferably within Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.
  • Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) registration is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving work on construction projects across various locations within the country. The role requires collaboration with multiple internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure effective contract management.
