About the Role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Senior Key Account Manager to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a contract position. The company focuses on developing innovative space and defense solutions and services, emphasizing the people involved in its operations.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

Reporting with limited supervision, the Senior Key Account Manager will be instrumental in achieving regional order intake targets as per operative planning. This role involves leading sales and pre-sales efforts for key campaigns within the Kingdom, aligning sales strategies with the Head of Sales, and maintaining a qualified sales funnel with accurate forecasting of order intake and revenues. A critical aspect of this position is to gather and promptly share competitor information within the Airbus Public Safety and Security (PSS) marketing and product portfolio strategic group to maintain a competitive edge. The role also requires ensuring customer satisfaction and assisting finance with timely customer payments when necessary, all while adhering to PSS ethics and compliance policies.

Key Account Management Duties

  • Leading sales and pre-sales activities for selected campaigns, including defining sales strategy and capture plans.
  • Coordinating commercial actions and managing the submission of offers prepared by the bid team.
  • Delivering the best commercial proposal in accordance with internal PSS rules.
  • Negotiating with customers and closing deals.
  • Driving business growth and market penetration for PSS by fostering new business models and product innovations.
  • Reinforcing the PSS commercial position through support of strategic partnerships.
  • Developing a deep understanding of the customer's environment to identify needs related to PSS products, services, and solutions.
  • Responding to customer needs with Airbus PSS solutions.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Sales to develop business plans and sales forecasts.

Required Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates will possess strong analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information, challenge quotes, and use intuition and experience to complement data. Effective organization and management of customer meetings, taking ownership of tasks, and working under pressure are essential. A consultative approach to selling and problem-solving, coupled with cultural awareness, is required. Business acumen, including understanding business implications of decisions, market and competition knowledge, and alignment with strategic goals, is also important. The role demands impact and influence, the ability to win support for ideas, and appropriate use of authority. Innovation, leadership, planning and organization, presentation skills, problem-solving capabilities, product knowledge, and strategic thinking are all key competencies for this position.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in Management, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Wireless Communications sales within Saudi governmental organizations, specifically in communications and information systems.
  • Proven experience in managing large and complex sales campaigns.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Capacity for multi-tasking, prioritizing tasks, and making critical decisions.
  • Ability to handle uncertainty and stress.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic for negotiation.
  • Saudi nationals are preferred for this role.
