About Mace Group and the Role

Mace Group, a leader in construction and consultancy, is seeking a Senior Manager (Construction Waste) to join its team in Riyadh. This part-time role is integral to one of Saudi Arabia's largest and most significant development programs. The successful candidate will contribute to a project that redefines ambition by combining construction expertise with strategic consultancy.

Project Context

This extensive program in Riyadh encompasses a major mixed-use development, featuring sports facilities, entertainment venues, arts infrastructure, and all associated supporting infrastructure. As a key delivery partner, Mace Group requires experienced professionals to lead integrated teams through every phase of this complex undertaking. The Senior Manager (Construction Waste) will play a crucial role in ensuring sustainable and compliant waste management practices across the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and coordination for project delivery activities, supporting the Senior Construction Delivery Team and Project Leadership Team.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive construction waste management strategies, procedures, and performance targets aligned with program requirements, environmental objectives, and regulatory obligations.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and waste service providers to ensure effective segregation, handling, storage, transportation, recycling, recovery, and disposal of construction waste materials.
  • Monitor and report on waste management performance, including recycling rates, diversion from landfill metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs), offering recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Assume ownership of safety, wellbeing, quality, and compliance outcomes for assigned project areas.
  • Foster and maintain a positive Health, Safety, and Wellbeing culture across all site operations.
  • Lead and support lookahead planning and forecasting meetings, providing strategic direction and resolving delivery challenges.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, designers, and project stakeholders, managing Quality Assurance (QA) processes through to final sign-off.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement construction standards, and support net-zero carbon objectives through proactive carbon management and reduction measures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in construction waste management or a related field. The position requires a professional with a proven track record in developing and implementing waste management strategies within large-scale construction projects. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships is essential.
