The Role: Senior Manager - General Ledger Controlling

The Senior Manager - General Ledger Controlling leads the finance operations team, ensuring the accurate booking of financial transactions, efficient treasury operations, employee payroll, and other disbursements across the Group. This full-time role, based in Riyadh, requires adherence to commercial obligations, budgetary ownership, internal policies and controls, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Book and record all financial transactions in alignment with budgetary ownership by entity and Business Unit, internal policies, controls, and IFRS.
  • Execute all treasury operations, including payables, collections, credit control and insurance, documentary credit, financial guarantees, and other instruments, bank funding, cash management, and pooling.
  • Conduct monthly cash flow planning and forecasting to ensure adequate and cost-effective liquidity for current and future Group needs.
  • Actively manage and service the bank debt/funding portfolio through review, forecasting, and planning of operating and financing cash flows, and tracking KPI performance against covenants.
  • Prepare KSA fiscal reporting and ensure regulatory compliance for matters such as VAT and Zakat.
  • Review and disburse monthly payroll, business expenses, and other reward mechanisms for Group employees.

Strategic Financial Management and Support

This role controls, analyzes, and optimizes Group operating and financing cashflows, managing bank facility utilization through regular cash flow planning and forecasting in collaboration with the CFO. The Senior Manager supports the GM and Corporate Commercial Finance team in developing funding strategy, capital structure, and securing appropriate bank facilities to optimize financing costs. Additionally, the role assists Corporate Commercial Finance and IT in implementing various SAP setups and other integrations, and supports all activities driven by Corporate Commercial Finance.

Operational Excellence and Team Leadership

The Senior Manager is responsible for leading and developing the Accounting team. This includes ensuring adherence to all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions for controlled and consistent work execution. The role also involves assisting in preparing accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports to meet corporate and functional requirements, policies, and standards. Furthermore, the Senior Manager contributes to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of the department’s systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices, business process enhancement, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.

Candidate Profile

Candidates for this position should possess over 10 years of relevant experience in finance operations and general ledger controlling. The role requires strong analytical skills, a comprehensive understanding of IFRS, and expertise in KSA fiscal matters. Key external relationships include banking partners, statutory auditors, credit insurers, and tax advisory.
