Alrawaf Contracting, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a dedicated professional to join its team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to significant projects within a dynamic environment.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Planning Engineer / Planning Team Lead to oversee and manage project planning and scheduling activities. The role spans the entire project lifecycle, from tendering and pre-construction phases through to execution and closeout. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive project schedules, monitoring progress, conducting delay analyses, and providing management with precise scheduling information and performance insights.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed project schedules, including creating Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), defining project activities, durations, logic sequences, and milestones.
  • Prepare manpower, equipment, and material loading plans.
  • Coordinate with cost control teams to ensure integrated planning.
  • Develop integrated engineering, procurement, and construction schedules.
  • Prepare baseline schedules for approval by management, consultants, and clients.
  • Identify potential schedule risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and update schedules on a regular basis (weekly/monthly).
  • Measure productivity and analyze performance trends.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including S-curves, histograms, and earned value reports.
  • Monitor the utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and budget monitoring activities.

Advanced Planning and Leadership

  • Monitor critical paths, identify schedule risks, analyze delays, and recommend effective corrective actions.
  • Report schedule variances and develop recovery plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive delay analysis using recognized methodologies.
  • Prepare extension of time (EOT) claims and compile supporting documentation.
  • Lead and mentor planning engineers and schedulers within the team.
  • Review and approve planning deliverables to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate planning activities across multiple concurrent projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, demonstrating a strong background in managing complex project timelines and resources.
