About the Role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a Lead Core Network Architect to join their team in Al Khobar, Riyadh. This contract position involves owning the architecture and technical leadership of mobile core networks for private mission-critical connectivity platforms. The role requires over 10 years of experience in core network architecture and leadership.

Role Context

The Connectivity & Network Engineering teams at Capgemini Engineering focus on next-generation telecom transformation, delivering resilient, secure, and scalable core network platforms. This role contributes to the growth of senior technical leadership in Al Khobar, driving architecture decisions, multi-vendor integration, and leading engineering teams. The Lead Core Network Architect will define end-to-end core architecture strategies and serve as the principal technical authority across EPC, 5G Core, and IMS domains.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own end-to-end mobile core network solutions across EPC, 5G Core, and IMS domains, including subscriber management, policy and charging frameworks, and gateway functions, ensuring carrier-grade resilience and scalability for mission-critical private network environments.
• Define comprehensive core network architecture strategies, including capacity planning, redundancy models, and geo-resilience designs, translating complex SLA requirements into robust, future-proof technical solutions.
• Lead multi-vendor integration across RAN, transport, OSS, MCX, and security domains, managing technical interdependencies and ensuring seamless end-to-end interoperability across the full network stack in large-scale deployment programs.
• Produce High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documentation, operational runbooks, and technical reference architectures.
• Drive vendor technical and relationship management, acting as the primary technical interface with key technology partners, evaluating vendor capabilities, influencing roadmaps, and ensuring alignment with program objectives and customer requirements.
• Lead customer engagement activities at a senior technical level, building relationships with stakeholders, presenting architectural recommendations, and translating technical concepts into business-aligned outcomes.
• Manage and mentor the core network engineering team, providing technical guidance and fostering engineering excellence.
• Support deployment, performance optimization, and acceptance activities, providing hands-on technical leadership throughout the delivery lifecycle.
