About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Startup Investor Manager for National Startup Investor Management within the EMEA region. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, focuses on identifying and collaborating with promising early-stage startups and venture capital firms. The role requires a blend of technical depth, business acumen, and investment insight to establish AWS as a foundational platform for the next generation of technology companies.

AWS and the Startup Ecosystem

AWS provides cloud computing solutions to startups globally, enabling founders to access technology that powers large enterprises. The AWS Startups team supports founders at all stages of growth and funding, helping them validate and scale their innovations. This role operates within AWS Global Sales, which drives cloud adoption worldwide by providing tailored service and technology. The Senior Startup Investor Manager will work directly with venture capital firms and angel investors to accelerate the success of their portfolio companies on AWS, fostering faster innovation and scaling through meaningful initiatives between the investment community and AWS.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong Partner-level relationships with venture capital firms in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Design and implement investor-focused programs aimed at accelerating portfolio company success.
• Develop and deploy solutions that address specific needs of startups and investors.
• Collaborate on cross-functional initiatives with AWS Startups, Sales, Marketing, and Product teams.
• Monitor the effectiveness of programs and provide feedback based on performance results.
• Gather early-stage market signals from investors and founders to inform AWS innovation and meet evolving company needs.
• Assess the technical and business potential of startups by understanding their architecture, technology stack, and market opportunity.
• Advise portfolio companies on optimizing their cloud architecture and go-to-market strategies.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and an MBA.
• A minimum of 6 years of professional or military experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at an organizational level.
• Deep knowledge of the Venture Capital landscape in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including established connections with investors.
• Deep knowledge of the Venture Capital landscape across the broader Middle East region.
• Operational experience within a startup and/or venture investment environment.

Required Experience and Technical Acumen

• Experience in Go-To-Market, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting roles.
• Practical experience working with Core Cloud Technology Services, including but not limited to Compute, Edge, Hybrid, Security, and/or Networking.
• Experience with Data & AI related technologies, such as AI/ML, Generative AI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage.
• Proven ability to interpret complex data and formulate business recommendations.
• Experience in leveraging analytics to inform and drive decision-making processes.
