Site Manager Electrical (Substation)

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a highly experienced Site Manager - Electrical (Substation) to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is critical for overseeing the electrical construction execution of 380kV BSP projects, requiring a professional with valid SEC approval and a proven track record in this specialized field.

Key Responsibilities and Project Focus

The Site Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of electrical construction activities. This includes site coordination, effective subcontractor management, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, monitoring project progress, and driving timely completion in strict compliance with SEC standards and project specifications.

Primary Duties

• Lead and manage all electrical construction activities for 380kV substation/BSP projects.
• Plan and monitor site execution, including resource allocation for manpower, materials, equipment, and daily progress.
• Coordinate effectively with SEC, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure all works comply with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications, and established project procedures.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, cable works, equipment erection, and all related electrical activities.
• Monitor project schedules, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to achieve project milestones.
• Review drawings, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and other technical documents before execution.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure optimal productivity, quality, safety, and timely completion of their scope.
• Coordinate with Civil, Protection & Control, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, and Procurement teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper closure of all technical and construction issues.
• Support testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and SEC inspection/approval activities.
• Prepare comprehensive progress reports and provide regular updates to the Project Manager and management.
• Ensure strict compliance with HSE requirements and promote a zero-incident project execution environment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in EHV/HV substation construction projects, specifically including 380kV substations.
• A minimum of 5 years in a Site Manager or Construction Manager role.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with SEC projects and SEC construction standards.
• Proven experience working on SEC-approved 380kV Substation Projects.

Essential Skills and Technical Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of GIS installation, power transformers, switchgear, protection systems, cable works, and commissioning activities.
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with SEC General Specifications (SGS), SEC Safety Regulations, and SEC project execution procedures.
• Ability to coordinate directly with SEC Project Management and Construction Supervision teams.
