SPECIALIST FREIGHT

About the Role

Alfanar Projects is seeking a Specialist, Freight to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role focuses on managing customs clearance for import and export shipments, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The specialist will be responsible for preparing documentation, coordinating with forwarders and authorities, and supporting timely delivery through effective shipment planning, monitoring, and problem resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and validate shipping requests (IBD) from purchase officers, resolving any discrepancies in purchase orders.
• Verify cargo descriptions for compliance with Alfanar’s legal duty exemption criteria and initiate exemption requests as needed.
• Process IBDs in the system, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
• Collect shipment details, confirm readiness with shippers, determine shipment type, and obtain competitive rates from forwarders.
• Release Freight Orders to selected forwarders and coordinate timely pickup and movement of shipments.
• Monitor lead times from origin to destination and maintain communication with forwarders and shippers, reporting deviations and corrective measures.
• Ensure all shipping documents comply with local regulations and Freight Order requirements, confirming availability before shipment arrival.
• Assist in initiating and processing insurance claims by providing necessary documentation to the insurance specialist.

• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities.
• Comply with all related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required for this role.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Alfanar Projects.
