Sr. OFR Operations Specialist

About the Role

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Sr. OFR Operations Specialist to join its team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves implementing OFR Operations/Customer Service plans and processes to manage the flow of goods and information across customer global supply chains using ocean transportation. The specialist will focus on maximizing profitability and optimizing the utilization of business and human assets in line with business strategy, objectives, and corporate guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Implement OFR Ops/CS plans and processes to provide ocean freight services for internal and external customers.
• Analyze and collate requirements for the freight control center, supporting the operations team with necessary details, information, and instructions for operational performance.
• Coordinate freight administration, including allocation and reservations of freight on planned line haul.
• Contribute to the development and execution of plans for ocean freight products in specialized areas such as perishables, pharmaceuticals, and aviation.
• Identify opportunities to expand business with new clients and continuously improve in-house customer services.
• Build close business relationships with existing clients, conduct customer visits, and maintain a desired level of customer retention.
• Stay updated on account performances, draft, and provide monthly reports to management.
• Implement pricing strategy and respond to pricing inquiries efficiently and competitively.
• Deliver day-to-day shipment documentation for freight forwarding, assist in the development of shipping tenders, and ensure on-time submission of relevant documents.
• Seek opportunities to enhance ocean freight productivity, efficient resource allocation, and utilization.
• Analyze and provide input for processes and design systems to enhance service quality.
• Resolve and analyze issues in day-to-day delivery and implement practices for OFR Ops/CS, focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency.
• Provide support, direction, and guidance on issues and problems to less experienced or new team members.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience required: 0-1 year in a relevant field.
• Ability to create and/or confirm transport orders, perform, and optimize bookings.
• Proficiency in preparing, controlling, and distributing all required Import/Export documents.
• Capability to identify performance issues of suppliers and propose solutions for improvement.
• Aptitude for updating Customs shipment information and physical status, and resolving customer issues and incidents.
