The Role of Technical Studies Simulator and Support Manager

We are seeking a Technical Studies Simulator and Support Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to managing Superintendent PCU operators for realistic Air Traffic Control (ATC) and Weapons Director (WD) Operations simulations across various environments, including Aerodrome, Non-Radar Approach Control, Radar Approach Control, and Air Defence Operations. The Manager will provide essential support to the Head of Technical Studies Training, the Manager Air Traffic Control Training, and the Manager of Weapons Director Training in the administration and management of the Technical Studies Training Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the production and evaluation of Technical Studies Training (TST) simulator exercises in collaboration with instructional staff and Pilot Control Unit (PCU) Operators.
  • Oversee the training of Saudi National Technical Training Program (SNTTP) participants from initial to qualification stages for TST PCU Operators.
  • Lead the preparation of timetables, scheduling, and allocation of TST PCU Operators utilizing TMIS and FlighPro Systems.
  • Manage all TST Simulator updates provided by the manufacturer and apply company procedures for configuration control of examinations and results.
  • Develop and manage the database of TST training results to support the continuous assessment of RSAF Officer Cadets.
  • Manage in-house demonstrations of TST simulator operations, including aircraft and vehicle models, airspace data, weather, and operational exercises.
  • Manage the induction, training, development, and audit of Saudi Nationals into TST PCU Operator roles, ensuring adherence to ICAO, GACA, and RSAF TST procedures.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date training records using the TMIS / LMS system.
  • Administer the acquisition, allocation, maintenance, and use of training resources, including textbooks, classrooms, and training devices.
  • Direct and lead TST simulator operators to provide an environment that promotes independent learning and a military ethos.
  • Manage and conduct Electronic Personnel Development Reviews (E-PDR) for Superintendent PCU Operators ATC/WD, completing these annually.
  • Administer compliance with BAE Systems Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policy and Duty of Care responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience and demonstrate the following:

  • Expert knowledge and extensive proven experience in ATC or WD Simulator Management and Operations at the King Fahad Air Academy (KFAA) within the Air Traffic Control / Weapons Director Training Departments.
  • Extensive proven experience in Operational ATC/WD Simulation at the Technical Studies Squadron, with demonstrated experience as a Superintendent PCU Operator in either ATC or WD simulations.
  • Proven ATC Simulator Operations trainer experience within ATC Simulations at an Academic, Aviation Training Organization, or Air Navigation Service Provider.
  • Completion of an Instructional Techniques Course.
  • Extensive proven Operational Simulator experience as a PCU Operator ATC Superintendent within ATC training disciplines (2D / 3D Visual Tower, Radar Approach Control, and Non-Radar Approach Control Simulator operations) within the last three years.
  • Alternatively, extensive proven Operational Simulator experience as a PCU Operator WD Superintendent within WD Simulator training disciplines with substantial proven experience.
  • Demonstrated WD Simulator Operations trainer experience within WD Simulations at an Academic or Aviation Training Organization Provider.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience of ATC or WD Regulations, Procedures, and Flight Deck Operations.
  • Prior service at the KFAA as a Superintendent PCU Operator (ATC or WD) with proven experience.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, contributing to critical training programs for the Royal Saudi Air Force.
