The Role of Life Support Tech/Trainer

We are seeking a dedicated Life Support Tech/Trainer to join our team in Taif. This full-time role involves conducting scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance of Typhoon Life Support equipment, strictly adhering to approved technical data and procedures. A key aspect of this position is to support the Saudisation process by delivering On-the-Job Training (OJT) and consolidation training to assigned RSAF technicians, contributing to national capability development. This role offers a competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver Life Support capabilities in support of RSAF Typhoon operations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
• Ensure correct completion and recording of all engineering practices, in line with 2nd and 3rd signature responsibilities.
• Prioritise tasks effectively to ensure no loss in flying capability.
• Manage the segregation and control of all materials, regardless of serviceability state, including proper tagging.
• Compile and control job cards, demonstrating a working knowledge of 1st and 2nd signature responsibilities.
• Ensure strict adherence to correct engineering practices and the usage of approved data.
• Generate statistics related to the overall performance and usage of HMSS.
• Control Supply & POL systems, including relevant document control.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Tool Control, ensuring correct procedures are consistently in place.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• Extensive experience within the field of Aircrew Life Support Equipment in a technical role, serving on an operational military flying unit. Experience with Typhoon aircraft is preferred.
• Thorough working knowledge of Life Support maintenance, fault finding, and fitting procedures.
• Practical experience working on Typhoon Life Support associated test equipment.
• Broad experience in coaching and mentoring techniques to supervise and develop others through a training evaluation strategy.
• An understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
• Thorough working knowledge of aircraft Life Support Fast jet Equipment.
• Preferred experience of working in the aviation industry in a Gulf Coast Country.

Essential Skills and Technical Understanding

• Awareness of the principles of Continuing Airworthiness and their application to maintenance areas, including relevant terminology.
• Familiarity with how authorisations, competence, and currency affect the completion of maintenance tasks.
• Awareness of the need to report all accidents and incidents in a controlled and confidential manner.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing customer requirements.
• Understanding of the maintenance planning philosophy, including distinctive terms used within it and its relation to the role.
• Detailed knowledge of the Aircrew Assisted Escape System (AAES) and the safety requirements for entering and exiting the aircraft cockpit safely.
