The Role of Challenge Course Instructor

As a Challenge Course Instructor at Miraval The Red Sea, your primary responsibility is to facilitate and instruct a variety of high and low ropes challenge course activities. This full-time role involves leading team-building exercises, climbing walls, and other adventure-based programs. The instructor integrates physical challenges with mindfulness, promoting personal growth, teamwork, and mental resilience. This position ensures guest safety and engagement while creating a dynamic and supportive environment for both individual and group experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead high and low ropes challenge course activities, including climbing walls, team-building exercises, and obstacle courses.
• Guide guests through mindful movement, incorporating strategies for team-building, problem-solving, and mental resilience.
• Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment, catering to varying fitness levels and abilities.
• Provide clear instruction and guidance on safety, equipment use, and movement techniques.
• Develop creative team-building exercises that encourage collaboration, communication, and trust among participants.
• Integrate mindfulness techniques during activities to enhance guest mental and emotional well-being.

Program Development and Safety Standards

This role actively contributes to the development of new challenge-based programs and collaborates with the wider fitness and recreation team to create holistic, transformative experiences for guests. The instructor will work with the Fitness & Recreation Manager to design and implement new challenge course programs, ensuring they meet diverse guest needs and align with Miraval’s wellness philosophy. Staying informed on emerging challenge course trends is essential for program innovation. Furthermore, the instructor is responsible for conducting thorough pre-activity safety briefings, overseeing the setup and maintenance of challenge course equipment, and adhering to all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and Saudi Government Rules and Regulations.

Guest Relations and Team Collaboration

The Challenge Course Instructor fosters strong guest relationships by providing personalized support and maintaining a friendly, approachable demeanor. This position requires close collaboration with other fitness, wellness, and recreation teams to ensure seamless integration of challenge course activities with broader resort programs. The instructor will actively contribute to guest engagement by offering personalized experiences that align with their fitness, wellness, and team-building goals, and provide mentorship and guidance to junior instructors. Collaboration with the marketing team to promote challenge course offerings and represent programs at external wellness events is also part of this role.
