Role Summary

SLS The Red Sea is seeking a Director of Spa to lead Ciel Spa. This full-time role, based in Umluj, Tabuk, involves overseeing the entire spa operation. The Director of Spa will be responsible for guest experiences, treatment standards, team leadership, commercial performance, retail, partnerships, and daily operations. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and daily operation of Ciel Spa, ensuring a personalized guest experience.
• Maintain standards across treatments, guest journeys, reception, relaxation areas, retail, and all spa facilities.
• Curate and evolve the treatment menu, wellness experiences, and spa programming to align with Ciel Spa and SLS identity.
• Recruit, lead, train, and develop the Spa team, fostering a culture of service and development.
• Drive the commercial performance of the spa, including revenue, profitability, treatment utilization, retail sales, productivity, and cost management.
• Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and business plans, monitoring financial performance and identifying growth opportunities.
• Implement revenue management, pricing, packages, promotions, and upselling strategies.
• Monitor guest feedback, service quality, and industry trends to enhance the Ciel Spa experience.
• Develop relationships with spa, skincare, beauty, and wellness partners.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to integrate wellness into the wider guest journey.
• Create seasonal programming, wellness events, and collaborations.
• Oversee spa inventory, purchasing, retail, product control, and supplier relationships.
• Ensure spa facilities are presented, maintained, and operationally ready.
• Maintain hygiene, health, safety, treatment protocols, and guest privacy standards.
• Establish SOPs, service standards, and training programs.
• Prepare and analyze operational and financial reports.
• Stay informed of luxury spa, beauty, and wellness trends, introducing new concepts.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree or diploma in Spa Management, Hospitality, Wellness, Business Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of spa or wellness experience, with significant experience in a senior leadership role within a luxury hotel, resort, or premium spa environment.
• Proven experience managing a full-service luxury spa operation, with knowledge of treatments, spa journeys, retail, and wellness programming.
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience managing budgets, forecasts, revenue, profitability, payroll, and operational costs.
• Ability to drive treatment utilization, retail performance, upselling, and overall spa revenue.
• Understanding of luxury spa service standards, guest experience, and current wellness trends.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience recruiting, training, coaching, and developing a diverse team.
• Knowledge of spa hygiene, health and safety, treatment protocols, and operational compliance.
• Experience developing treatment menus, packages, promotions, partnerships, and seasonal wellness programming.
• Excellent guest relations and communication skills with a polished and personalized approach to service.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Experience with spa management and booking systems, Microsoft Office, and relevant hotel operating systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic and additional languages are advantageous.
• Flexible and hands-on leadership style, adaptable to the operational requirements of a luxury resort environment.
