We are seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in Yanbu, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia, for a full-time position supporting significant integrated plant projects.
Role Overview and Project Context
The Senior Planning Engineer will manage and coordinate planning and scheduling interfaces for the Integrated PDH-PP Plants project. This role involves close collaboration with the Client, PMT, Worley Project Controls team, engineering teams, and multiple contractors to ensure effective planning, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting across all project phases. The position is critical for aligning project execution with strategic objectives, contractual requirements, and key milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate planning and scheduling interfaces between the Client, PMT, Worley Project Controls team, engineering teams, and multiple contractors supporting the Integrated PDH-PP Plants project.
- Work closely with the Client and Worley Project Controls teams to ensure effective planning, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting across all project phases.
- Review contractor and consultant baseline schedules, periodic updates, look-ahead schedules, forecasts, mitigation plans, and recovery programmes to ensure alignment with the project execution strategy, contractual requirements, and key milestones.
- Manage, maintain, and update the Level 1 Client Master Schedule, consolidating contractor schedules and ensuring that key interfaces, dependencies, and milestones are properly reflected.
- Monitor and assess overall project progress and performance across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and other project workstreams.
- Review and challenge contractor progress data, forecasts, and projected completion dates, including earned value and schedule performance analysis against approved baselines and project targets.
- Identify schedule risks, critical and near-critical path activities, constraints, delays, and interface issues, and recommend appropriate mitigation, corrective, and recovery actions.
- Prepare and consolidate weekly and monthly progress and performance reports, including schedule forecasts, trends, and key planning information for the Client, PMT, and project leadership.
- Support the validation of contractor progress, including progress measurement, reported quantities, and, where required, the review of progress claims and payment applications.
- Participate in planning, progress, schedule review, and coordination meetings, while ensuring that planning and reporting activities remain consistent with project procedures, contractual requirements, Client requirements, and Worley standards.
- Support the review and analysis of contractor Extension of Time (EOT) requests and claims and provide planning input to the PMT and Client for evaluation and resolution.
