About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Accountant to join their team in Al Madinah (Medina). This full-time position involves supporting daily general ledger processes, including customer interaction and process understanding. The role focuses on accounting functions such as account reconciliation, general ledger review, preparation, and variance resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement assigned accounting tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate, implement, and track accounting SOP audits across all hotel areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws related to fraud and collection procedures.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely financial reports and presentations.
  • Analyze financial information to evaluate results and resolve problems.
  • Organize, code, categorize, calculate, prepare, review, or verify financial information or data.
  • Balance credit card general ledger accounts.
  • Verify group contracts and conduct credit checks for directly billed groups when necessary.
  • Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Submit reports on time, ensuring delivery deadlines are met.
  • Ensure accurate recording of profits and losses.
  • Monitor all applicable taxes to ensure they are current and/or accrued.
  • Maintain a strong and effective accounting and operational control environment.
  • Complete period-end closing functions each period.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to other organizational units on accounting budget policies, procedures, and effective utilization of financial resources.

Accounting Knowledge and Application

  • Demonstrate understanding of work-related issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Possess knowledge of return audit procedures, gross revenue reports, sales ledger procedures, and uniform deposit procedures.
  • Stay technically updated and apply new knowledge to the job position.
  • Utilize computers and computer systems (hardware and software) for programming, software setup, data entry, and information processing.
  • Apply relevant information and judgment to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, or standards.

Team Leadership and Human Resources

  • Lead, influence, and encourage others using interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advocate sound financial/business decision-making and demonstrate honesty/integrity.
  • Motivate and provide a productive work environment for employees.
  • Set deadlines and assign tasks.
  • Establish and maintain an "open door policy" within the scope of responsibility.
  • Manage quality processes related to guest service and employee satisfaction.
  • Interview, select, and train employees.
  • Evaluate employee performance to recommend promotions or other job changes.
  • Follow appropriate progressive disciplinary procedures.
  • Ensure safety and security for employees and the hotel.
  • Monitor employee attendance and record absences/tardiness.
  • Assist direct supervisors in achieving their development goals.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Four-year bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related major.
  • No prior work experience is required (0-1 years of experience).
