Job Description

About EnerVenue

EnerVenue is a Silicon Valley-based energy infrastructure company specializing in metal-hydrogen battery technology. Founded in 2020, the company adapts NASA-developed aerospace chemistry for grid-scale terrestrial energy storage, offering batteries with over 30,000 cycle lifetimes, inherent fire-safety, and a 30-year design life. EnerVenue is well-capitalized for growth, with plans to build a high-volume manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China, targeting 250 MWh capacity by Q3 2026 and 1 GWh by 2027.

Role Overview

EnerVenue is seeking an Application Engineer for the MENA region. This full-time, remote position is based in Saudi Arabia and involves working directly with utilities, developers, EPC contractors, and industrial customers across the Kingdom and the wider GCC. The role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on bridging advanced energy storage technology with real-world deployment. The Application Engineer will translate customer requirements into optimized system designs, validate performance across diverse use cases, and ensure solutions deliver measurable value in the field. This position supports sales, marketing, product, and engineering teams with modeling, integration guidance, technical sales support, and application expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical partner to Sales throughout the commercial lifecycle, from initial qualification to contract execution.
  • Shape deal strategy by translating customer use cases, financial objectives, and operating constraints into technically optimized storage solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to define duty cycles, performance guarantees, augmentation strategies, and integration requirements.
  • Develop robust energy storage models to quantify lifetime performance, degradation, efficiency, availability, and ROI.
  • Produce detailed technical proposals and bid packages, including system sizing, single-line diagrams, performance assumptions, and compliance documentation.
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and technical due diligence requests with accuracy.
  • Support customer meetings, executive presentations, and contract negotiations as the technical authority.
  • Develop standardized tools, calculators, and modeling frameworks to improve proposal consistency and cycle time.
  • Manage customer-facing technical documentation and collaborate with technical teams to generate necessary project proposal documentation.
  • Develop and/or review system designs, single lines, layouts, containerization, and performance/availability guarantees.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop application notes, white papers, case studies, and technical content.
  • Translate complex engineering advantages into clear, benefit-driven messaging for target segments.
  • Provide technical input for product launches, webinars, conference presentations, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Serve as a bridge from the Commercial team to Product and Engineering, ensuring customer requirements inform the roadmap.
  • Support commissioning readiness and early deployment to protect performance assumptions.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • 5-10 years of experience in power systems, battery engineering, PV + storage integration, or grid-connected infrastructure.
  • Experience gained at a leading OEM, EPC, developer, utility, or technology-driven energy company.
  • Demonstrated rigorous analytical skills and a strong safety mindset.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing, or scaling environment, applying technical depth to commercial pursuits and supporting projects from feasibility through commissioning and field optimization.
  • Ability to discuss electrochemical behavior at the cell level and review single-line diagrams for multi-MW grid-connected systems.
  • Proficiency in moving between modeling software and job sites.
  • Understanding that technical precision underpins revenue and the ability to translate technical jargon into marketing differentiation.
  • Capability to support proposals that withstand RFP scrutiny, independent engineer review, and contractual performance guarantees.
  • Professionalism, accountability, proactive communication, and composure under tight timelines and high-stakes customer interactions.
  • Understanding of contracts, guarantees, liquidated damages risk, and bankability requirements, ensuring technical proposals align with these realities.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, UL, and applicable global standards.

What EnerVenue Offers

  • Opportunity to manage end-to-end technical application engineering for metal-hydrogen energy storage technology in the Middle East.
  • Direct alignment with EnerVenue’s manufacturing team and joint technical roadmap planning with the product engineering team.
  • Competitive compensation package for a mid-level technical leadership role, including base salary and project performance bonus tied to successful bid delivery and project win rate.
  • Access to full technical training resources, global electrochemical R&D data, and field test cases.
  • Funding for regional industry conferences and standard certification upgrades.
