Captain

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Captain to join its team. This full-time role involves overseeing service operations within banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks, ensuring high standards of presentation and guest satisfaction. The Captain will be responsible for coordinating service needs and managing guest interactions to deliver a seamless experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate service requirements to chefs and stewards during functions.
• Calculate charges for group events and present checks to group contacts for payment.
• Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee break areas are prepared for service.
• Verify that proper centerpieces are displayed on all tables.
• Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver before use.
• Engage with guests to confirm satisfaction.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness in work areas throughout the day.
• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions; and complete required safety training.
• Ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, maintain confidentiality, and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, communicate professionally, and answer telephones appropriately.
• Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and address employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects up to 25 pounds without assistance, and standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
• Execute other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or * equivalent.
• Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
• Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
• License or Certification: None required.
