Catering Sales Executive

About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton is seeking a Catering Sales Executive to manage social and local corporate catering opportunities that exceed standard sales office parameters. This full-time role involves contracting and closing local catering and social business, ensuring timely and proper handover for quality service delivery. The executive will be responsible for achieving catering revenue goals by actively up-selling business opportunities to maximize revenue.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sales efforts for the property, including local corporate and social catering.
• Respond to incoming catering opportunities and solicit affiliate business from approved lists.
• Analyze market conditions, competitor strengths, and economic trends to position the property effectively.
• Negotiate and close contracts using creative selling abilities.
• Collaborate with management to develop and implement catering sales plans.
• Design, develop, and sell creative catered events, maximizing revenue through up-selling packages and food and beverage options.
• Manage catering sales revenue and operational budgets, providing forecasting reports.
• Develop menus that drive sales and assist with the implementation of catering promotions.
• Execute and support Marriott’s Customer Service Standards and the hotel’s Brand Standards.
• Handle operational aspects of booked business, including proposal generation, contract writing, and customer correspondence.
• Ensure a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales, maintaining high service levels.
• Monitor and resolve guest issues arising from the sales process.
• Achieve catering revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity.

Relationship Management

• Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure coordinated sales efforts.
• Interact effectively with sales, kitchen, vendors, competitors, and other hotel departments to monitor guest satisfaction.
• Provide exemplary customer service to drive satisfaction and loyalty, assisting customers before and during their events.
• Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate features and services to exceed expectations and build loyalty.
• Develop a close working relationship with operations to execute strategies at the property level.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant sales or catering role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sales activities and achieve revenue goals.
• Strong negotiation and creative selling skills.
• Understanding of market dynamics, including competitors and economic trends.
• Proficiency in managing budgets and providing forecasting reports.
• Commitment to delivering service excellence and driving customer loyalty.
