Commissioning Manager PV Solar

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a Commissioning Manager - PV Solar to join their team. This full-time role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for renewable energy projects. The manager ensures safe, timely, and successful energization and handover in accordance with project specifications, grid requirements, and client standards. This position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage site-wide testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities for PV Solar, BESS, and associated substations.
• Develop and implement the overall commissioning strategy, schedule, procedures, and commissioning plan.
• Coordinate commissioning activities across Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, I&C, SCADA, BESS, and Substation systems.
• Prepare and review commissioning procedures, method statements, checklists, test protocols, and energization plans.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE, Planning, Vendors, OEMs, and subcontractors to ensure commissioning readiness.
• Monitor system completion, punch-point clearance, and turnover of systems from construction to commissioning.
• Coordinate testing of transformers, MV/HV switchgear, protection systems, cables, earthing, SCADA, PCS/inverters, and BESS systems.
• Coordinate with grid operator/client for energization, synchronization, grid compliance, and performance testing.
• Ensure all commissioning activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable IEC standards, and client requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting, identify technical issues, and coordinate corrective actions during commissioning.
• Manage commissioning resources, equipment, test instruments, and specialist vendors.
• Monitor commissioning progress against the approved schedule and implement recovery actions where required.
• Ensure proper documentation of test results, commissioning records, punch lists, and handover dossiers.
• Lead final performance tests and support successful project takeover and handover to O&M.
• Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety, LOTO, PTW, and project HSE requirements.

Experience Required

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience in commissioning activities, particularly within renewable energy projects.
