T&C Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a T&C Engineer to execute testing and commissioning activities for utility-scale solar PV projects. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-commissioning inspections, equipment checks, functional testing, and commissioning of solar PV modules, string combiner boxes, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and associated electrical systems.
• Perform electrical tests such as insulation resistance, continuity, earthing resistance, polarity, and other relevant tests.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning of MV/HV equipment, substations, protection relays, and power transformers.
• Verify inverter functionality, synchronization, grid connection, and performance parameters.
• Review and implement approved commissioning procedures, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and test reports.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, OEMs, QA/QC, HSE, and client representatives to ensure timely completion of commissioning activities.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical faults, equipment abnormalities, and commissioning issues.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable IEC standards, grid code requirements, and client requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and electrical safety procedures.
• Maintain commissioning records, test certificates, punch lists, and system handover documentation.
• Support grid synchronization, reliability runs, performance testing, and final project handover.
• Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, and coordination meetings with project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating foundational knowledge in testing and commissioning activities for solar PV projects.

Work Environment

This role is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on on-site execution of testing and commissioning tasks for large-scale solar installations.
