About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Dir-Rooms-B for a full-time position in Medina. This role functions as the strategic business leader for the property's Rooms department, focusing on planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the quality of the property's rooms. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

The Director of Rooms will lead the Rooms team, manage profitability, oversee revenue goals, ensure exceptional customer service, and conduct human resources activities. Specific duties include:

• Developing and implementing departmental strategies in alignment with brand service initiatives.
• Ensuring Rooms operations meet brand standards and customer needs while maximizing financial performance.
• Monitoring and promoting room rates, specials, and promotions.
• Analyzing service issues and identifying trends to develop operational strategies.
• Reviewing and auditing expenses, and monitoring sales performance against budget.
• Coaching the operations team on managing occupancy, rate, wages, and controllable expenses.
• Demonstrating and communicating key drivers of guest satisfaction.
• Responding to and handling guest problems and complaints, and gathering feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Interviewing and hiring employees, ensuring fair and equitable treatment.
• Fostering employee commitment to excellent service and conducting performance appraisals.
• Identifying talents of direct reports and assisting with their growth and development plans.

Strategic Leadership

This role involves communicating clear and consistent departmental goals, making decisions to achieve these goals, and developing property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed customer and employee expectations. The Director will also ensure a return on investment for the owner and company.

Customer Service Excellence

A core aspect of this position is to deliver and encourage excellent customer service. This includes reviewing guest feedback with the leadership team, coordinating event details, creating an atmosphere that exceeds guest expectations, and continually improving service based on feedback and personal judgment. The Director will emphasize guest satisfaction in all departmental meetings and facilitate creative solutions to improve results.

Human Resources Management

The role includes comprehensive human resources responsibilities such as ensuring regular communication within the Rooms department, fostering employee commitment, setting goals and expectations, and soliciting employee feedback. The Director will ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently, and support the Peer Review Process. Additionally, the role champions change and ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented.

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field. This is a full-time position based in Medina, within the Marriott International organization. The role requires a leader who can ensure employee satisfaction and focus on growing revenues while maintaining brand standards.
