Electrical Technician

About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician for full-time opportunities within power generation and water desalination plants across Saudi Arabia. This role is critical for ensuring safe plant operations, equipment reliability, and effective maintenance execution in accordance with approved procedures and HSE standards.

Role Purpose

The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on electrical equipment. This ensures the continuous and reliable operation of essential plant machinery and systems, contributing directly to the overall efficiency and safety of the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance on electrical equipment in power generation and water desalination plants.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair motors, switchgear, transformers, motor control centres (MCCs), variable-speed drives, cables, and electrical distribution systems.
• Maintain RO desalination electrical equipment, including pump drives and associated electrical systems, or CCGT electrical equipment, including generator auxiliaries, UPS/DC systems, and balance-of-plant equipment.
• Support planned maintenance outages, equipment overhauls, electrical testing, and troubleshooting activities under the supervision of the Electrical Supervisor or Engineer.
• Interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings to support maintenance activities.
• Coordinate equipment isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and permit-to-work requirements before maintenance execution.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, report equipment defects, and identify required spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, HSE standards, PPE requirements, and workplace housekeeping practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician.
• Demonstrated experience in power generation and/or water desalination plants.

Work Environment

This is a plant-based position located in Saudi Arabia. The role requires availability to support planned outages, maintenance activities, and emergency repairs as needed to ensure continuous plant operation.
