Job Description

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking an Engineering Technician - EOD to join its team. This full-time position requires 0-1 years of experience and involves responding to guest repair requests and performing various maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of hotel facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines for operational integrity.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
  • Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb and A/C filter replacement.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing (*, unclogging drains), and electrical components.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
  • Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system for all maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.
  • Input air handler schedules and make temperature changes using basic computer skills.

Safety and Operational Compliance

  • Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
  • Complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and heavier objects with assistance.
  • Capability to move up and down stairs, service ramps, and ladders.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Basic computer skills for work-related information entry.
