About the Role

Aloft is seeking an Event Planning professional to join their team. This full-time role requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on promoting brand image, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining operational efficiency within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote brand image awareness both internally and externally.
  • Prioritize and resolve outstanding requests or problems from the previous day.
  • Receive, record, and relay messages accurately and completely.
  • Follow up with guests to ensure their requests or problems have been met to their satisfaction.
  • Attend daily lineups promptly and assist with guest greetings as assigned.
  • Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
  • Serve as a role model and first point of contact for the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management and complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Communicate professionally, prepare accurate written documents, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards, and identify ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost-savings.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Safety and Security Compliance

  • Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately to a manager/supervisor.
  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions, or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Follow property-specific procedures for handling emergency situations (*, evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  • Adhere to Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Guest Service and Communication

  • Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests using established processes to resolve issues and build trust.
  • Address guests' service needs professionally, positively, and in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities within guidelines.
  • Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
  • Anticipate guests' service needs by asking questions and observing preferences.
  • Welcome and acknowledge every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using their name when possible.
  • Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and local attractions.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
  • Discuss work topics discreetly with coworkers, supervisors, or managers, avoiding public areas.
  • Prepare and review written documents, including proofreading and editing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide assistance to coworkers, ensuring they understand their tasks.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette, including answering within three rings, using a smile in one's voice, and transferring calls correctly.
  • Speak to guests and coworkers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.
  • Effectively exchange information with other employees, including using electronic devices.

Operational Support

  • Assist management in ensuring hourly employees have necessary resources (*, supplies, equipment, inventory).
  • Ensure employee compliance with company standards, policies, and external regulations (*, safety, OSHA, department-specific procedures).

Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to read and visually verify information in various formats.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Strong commitment to following company policies and procedures.
