Role Summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Gear Box Field Specialist to join its Industrial & Energy Technology team. This full-time position is based at the Baker Hughes plant in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The specialist will be responsible for performing maintenance and inspection operations at customer sites globally, ensuring the optimal performance of gearboxes and related components.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers to determine their needs and perform inspections or repairs.
• Execute mechanical activities on site, either independently or in collaboration with customer employees.
• Inspect gears and auxiliary components, including pumps and couplings.
• Replace parts in LUFKIN Gears or competitor gearboxes, as well as bearings or bushings.
• Recondition LUFKIN gearboxes or those of competitors.
• Resolve malfunctions or emergencies as needed.
• Perform vibration checks.
• Supervise repairs and technical improvements.
• Supervise and direct on-site teams, such as client subcontractors.
• Prepare comprehensive post-intervention reports.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a Mechanical Field.
• 2 to 6 years of experience in Rotating equipment, Turbines, or Gear boxes within the Oil and Gas Domain.

Essential Skills and Work Conditions

• Ability to work from the Baker Hughes plant in Dammam, with travel involved in certain parts of Saudi Arabia.
• Willingness to travel worldwide up to 80% of the time.
• Demonstrated rigor, organization, and methodical approach to tasks.
• Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
• Capability to work in challenging conditions, including varying climates and dusty environments, and occasionally work overtime.
• Flexibility to work varied hours to optimize productivity and accommodate operational needs.
