The Role of Instrument Technician
KBR is seeking an Instrument Technician to ensure the reliability and availability of instrument assets, thereby maintaining the operational status of process units. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the maintenance technician team, focusing on compliance with preventive maintenance plans and efficient breakdown maintenance for Instrument systems, equipment, and facilities.
- Execute monthly and weekly maintenance plans, control progress, and submit regular reports.
- Provide onsite maintenance and repairs for various instruments, including generators, transformers, and motors, ensuring adherence to standards, specifications, safety procedures, manufacturer recommendations, and contract terms.
- Supervise and coordinate daily Instrument maintenance activities performed by technicians across all Instrument systems, plant, equipment, and facilities within the designated area. This role serves as the focal point for daily Instrument maintenance execution.
- Conduct frequent site visits to ensure proper work execution and monitor technician activities during routine maintenance.
- Follow up on Instrument maintenance work progress, submit regular reports with recommendations to the Instrument foreman, and maintain records of daily maintenance against planned programs, preparing work completion reports as applicable.
- Assist in implementing engineering modifications and enhancements to Instrument equipment by providing recommendations to improve the suitability and serviceability of Instrument systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Proactive safety aptitude and behavior.
- Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing Instrument systems.
- Good knowledge of Instrument equipment design, installation, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing mechanical and electro-hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of standards, procedures, and regulations related to Health, Safety, and Environmental preservation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in instrument maintenance and repair.
