Junior Backend Engineer

About the Role

Integrated Solutions Tawantech is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer to join their team. This full-time role involves developing, maintaining, and supporting reliable backend applications and services. The successful candidate will contribute to enabling business capabilities and digital products, ensuring adherence to established engineering and security standards.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to the development and maintenance of robust backend solutions. This includes ensuring that all applications and services meet required performance, security, and quality benchmarks within a structured engineering framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Translate functional and technical requirements into working, tested software solutions.
• Integrate services with various databases, internal platforms, and external partner systems.
• Work with event streaming and messaging technologies such as Kafka and MQ under guidance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code in alignment with engineering standards.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, and resolution of defects.
• Apply secure coding practices, including implementing authentication, authorization, and data protection requirements.
• Support deployment and monitoring on containerized platforms like OpenShift/Kubernetes through established CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate actively in code reviews, technical discussions, and squad ceremonies.
• Support production troubleshooting efforts under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Maintain relevant technical documentation for developed systems and processes.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices and overall application quality.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in backend development.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture.
• Understanding of database integration and API development.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Experience with unit testing and debugging.

Technical Skills

• Experience with event streaming and messaging technologies (*, Kafka, MQ).
• Exposure to containerized platforms (*, OpenShift/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
