About Bechtel Corporation and the Ar Rjum Project

Bechtel Corporation, established in 1898, has a long history of successfully completing over 25,000 projects across 160 countries, contributing to infrastructure, economic growth, and essential services. The company is currently undertaking the Ar Rjum Project, a greenfield gold project located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif in Saudi Arabia. This significant development includes three open pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure such as water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and accommodation villages.

The Role of Lead Trend Engineer

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Lead Trend Engineer for a full-time position in Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the overall management of the project's trend program. The successful candidate will oversee the trend register, coordinate trend development, facilitate project trend meetings, and ensure the accurate loading of completed trends into EcoSys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the trend program on a day-to-day basis, serving as the primary point of contact for trend initiation across the project.
  • Coordinate the development of trend quantities and inputs in collaboration with trend and package owners.
  • Estimate the cost and hour impacts associated with identified trends.
  • Apply cost codes to trends and load them accurately into EcoSys.
  • Maintain the trend dashboard and conduct weekly project trend meetings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly cost reports.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management, or a related field (or an international equivalent).
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience; alternatively, 12 to 14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in PC operating systems and multi-discipline specific software applications, including EcoSys, PowerBI, and Microsoft applications.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with a demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information effectively to management and clients.
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems.

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Ar Rjum Project. The role requires a dedicated professional to manage critical project control functions within a dynamic project environment.
