Job Description

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Mgr-Security I (Saudi Only) to assist the Director of Security in managing daily security operations. This full-time role focuses on ensuring the continuous protection and safety of property assets, employees, and guests, as well as overseeing accident and fire prevention and response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing emergency procedures and recommending follow-up actions for security breaches.
  • Conduct investigations of property asset losses and refer findings to management for disposition.
  • Deploy security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets, ensuring compliance with Corporate Security guidelines.
  • Complete proper documentation and report all employee accident and general liability incidents to the Claims Reporting Service.
  • Conduct periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas, maintaining required reports and documentation.
  • Identify and recommend measures for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices, implementing action plans to control risk.
  • Handle guest problems and complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts.
  • Inspect all security equipment to ensure full functionality and provide means for timely medical attention when necessary.
  • Conduct hourly employee performance appraisals and disciplinary procedures according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain first aid and CPR certifications required for Security officers and implement local authority requirements for security and safety.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Attend pre- and post-convention and weekly forecast meetings to gather critical information for security officers.
  • Communicate the importance of safety procedures, ensuring employee understanding and monitoring related processes.
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage team members, advocating sound financial/business decision-making.
  • Solicit employee feedback, utilize an "open door" policy, and review employee satisfaction results to address concerns.
  • Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Identify developmental needs of others and provide coaching, mentoring, or other assistance to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.

Customer Service and Human Resources

  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and create a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and meet quality standards and customer expectations daily.
  • Assist in minimizing the cost of accident claims through aggressive claims management.
  • Bring issues to the attention of Human Resources as necessary and administer property policies fairly and consistently.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in security operations.
  • Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and choose effective solutions to problems.
  • Strong communication skills to inform and update executives, peers, and subordinates in a timely manner.
  • Capacity to develop and maintain working relationships with local law enforcement authorities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety policies and standards.

Additional Responsibilities

The role also involves coordinating with Event Sales for VIP escort and media control during large events, and continuously striving to improve service performance across all areas of responsibility.
