About the Role

Dr Sulaiman AlHabib Medical Centers is seeking a Midwife to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for assisting with nursing care and the preparation of obstetrical and surgical patients, performing routine and delegated duties in accordance with established standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure nursing care plans are current and tailored to individual patient needs.
• Assess patients for deviations from normal during labor and the postpartum period.
• Assist the team in managing life-threatening situations during delivery, providing initial stabilization until a physician arrives.
• Assess and care for normal newborns immediately after birth.
• Provide assistance with postpartum care, including breastfeeding support.
• Set up for deliveries and other medical procedures.
• Clean equipment, prepare it for re-sterilization, and assist in setting up for subsequent cases.
• Coordinate to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Assist with patient examinations.
• Process physicians' orders according to policy, including using the order-entry system.
• Utilize communication systems efficiently (telephone, computer, tube system, mail system).
• Assist in maintaining supplies and equipment, and perform clean-up/re-setup after deliveries.
• Provide assistance in emergency procedures, as well as elective and scheduled cases.
• Transport stable patients for diagnostic testing and between departments.
• Assist and support patients throughout the labor and delivery process.
• Communicate effectively with other departments for booking procedures, tracking information, and obtaining supplies or equipment.
• Provide patient and family education.
• Maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
• Comply with standards and perform duties to support national and international accreditation.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives.
• Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Perform other assigned tasks within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
