Operator Control Room

About the Role

Marafiq is seeking an Operator Control Room to join their team in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves carrying out operational activities through the DCS, continuously monitoring operating parameters and alarms for Desal/SWC and related systems, and taking corrective actions to ensure safe and reliable water and seawater production.

Key Responsibilities

• Review activities from the previous shift, including trips, shutdowns, start-ups, and deviations, to ensure continuity of operations.
• Monitor parameters, alarms, and unit load, taking corrective actions according to established procedures and reporting to the Shift Supervisor.
• Check and record readings, alarms, process parameters, and electrical network data, reporting abnormalities to the Shift Supervisor.
• Adhere to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental control procedures and instructions.
• Conduct routine equipment/system checks, tests, and changeovers in coordination with field operators and supervisors.
• Coordinate with Field Operators and the Shift Supervisor to resolve deviations and problems within the plant's electrical systems, including equipment isolation and switching operations.
• Communicate and coordinate with internal and external parties to manage interfaces and resource supplies such as water, seawater, steam, and chemicals.
• Respond to emergency situations by stabilizing problems and informing relevant parties as per procedures.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and procedures, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain accurate reports on plant status, activities, and incidents, documenting deviations and issues.
• Support the training of new control room operators to facilitate knowledge and experience transfer.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in the Control Room and ensure all desk facilities are functional.
• Analyze laboratory reports to verify water quality standards and implement corrective actions for deviations.
• Assess equipment availability and prepare weekly reports on non-functional equipment, identifying issues and proposing solutions.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
• For Diploma holders: 4 years of relevant plant operational experience in a large industrial environment.
• For High School graduates: 6-8 years of relevant plant operational experience in a large industrial environment.
• A minimum of 2 years of Field Operator experience.

This role is based in Yanbu Al Sinaiyah, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a full-time basis within a large industrial environment.
