Job Description

About WSP Middle East

WSP Middle East is seeking a Passive ICT Infrastructure Lead to join their team for an airport project in KSA. This full-time role is critical for ensuring the robust and compliant delivery of passive infrastructure within a complex aviation environment.

The Role

The Passive ICT Infrastructure Lead will oversee all passive infrastructure elements that support Special Airport Systems. This includes structured cabling, pathways, containment systems, and associated infrastructure. The role ensures that passive systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in line with project standards and aviation requirements, while maintaining close coordination with active systems, ICT, and construction interfaces. The Lead will also support the Project Director by monitoring progress and ensuring integration with airport operational frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the passive Special Airport Systems (SAS) scope throughout the project lifecycle, including design review, shop drawing/submittal review, installation oversight, testing, and handover.
  • Manage passive infrastructure engineering deliverables, such as cable routing, containment coordination, pathway planning, and integration across disciplines.
  • Coordinate with active SAS teams, ICT, and construction stakeholders to ensure seamless interface management and end-to-end system readiness.
  • Ensure installation quality and compliance through inspections, method statement/ITP reviews, and progress verification against programme milestones.
  • Drive commissioning readiness by supporting pre-commissioning checks, FAT/SAT preparation where applicable, integrated testing coordination, and documentation closure.
  • Manage technical queries (RFIs), site issues, and resolution tracking to prevent delays and ensure compliance with airport and aviation expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, highlight risks, and provide clear reporting to the Project Director, supporting decisions and mitigation planning.
  • Ensure documentation quality for handover, including as-builts, test results, O&M inputs, and evidence packs aligned to project requirements.

Required Experience and Knowledge

  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in passive infrastructure delivery for complex ICT, ELV, airport, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, containment (tray, trunking, conduit), pathways, and passive infrastructure coordination in live construction settings.
  • Proven experience working on major multi-stakeholder projects, interfacing with active systems and ICT teams, and managing construction constraints.
  • Solid capability in quality and progress control, including inspections, compliance checks, test planning, and structured close-out procedures.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to provide concise and accurate progress and risk updates.
  • A practical, site-oriented mindset coupled with strong problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to technical detail.
