This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience.

Role Overview

  • Utilize various testing equipment such as transformer turns ratio, insulation resistance, and dielectric testers.
  • Install and maintain high voltage cables, including solid dielectric, paper insulated lead covered (PILCA), low pressure oil filled (LPOF), and submarine cables, and perform testing of high-pressure oil filled (HPOF) cables, splicing, and terminations.
  • Repair electrical and mechanical components of oil circuit breakers, including compressors, pumps, springs, and linkages.
  • Conduct commissioning tests on new equipment, recommend final acceptance by the Power Distribution Department, and document any exception items.
  • Perform high-skilled diagnostic tasks, diagnose and locate equipment, system, and cable faults through tests and analysis, and determine necessary repairs and parts.
  • Install, repair, and maintain specialized power distribution equipment, including line wash equipment, lifts, and digger-derricks.
  • Supervise cable excavation, ensure de-energization and safety grounding, and oversee cable laying for high and medium voltage cables.
  • Perform potential testing and High-Potential testing on Power Cables.
  • Revise existing equipment and systems to conform to verbal instructions, revised drawings, and work orders, then conduct operational test runs for satisfactory repair and acceptance.
  • Coordinate and schedule power outages with affected organizations as required for routine maintenance or repairs on power distribution facilities.
  • Acquire clearances, perform switching, receive work permits, and restore equipment to service when required for timely work execution.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Thorough knowledge of equipment and underground cable safety requirements, including * and Saudi Electrical Codes.
  • Ability to read work orders, work permits, vendor manuals, and schematic diagrams.
