The Role

Ma'aden is seeking a Principal Specialist, Licensing & Tenement Management. This full-time position involves managing, developing, and contributing to exploration licensing application and granting processes. The role is critical for supervising tenement database systems to ensure all obligations within licenses and leases, as well as all legislative requirements, are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities: Licensing and Compliance

• Develop and oversee end-to-end licensing processes, including identifying and obtaining necessary licenses, permits, or rights for exploration activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Administer and supervise all reconnaissance and exploration licenses to ensure adherence to Saudi Arabian exploration and mining laws.
• Manage and advance record-keeping practices to ensure regulatory compliance with licensing terms and conditions.
• Facilitate the development of Exploration and Resource Development (ERD) by strengthening the administration and management of mineral rights, and contributing to geological knowledge within ERD and the company.
• Drive the implementation of new systems and approaches to enhance ERD Licensing and Tenement Management operations and processes.

Key Responsibilities: Strategic Management and Stakeholder Engagement

• Manage collaboration with the Corporate Affairs department and respective ERD teams to foster stakeholder engagement relationships, translating stakeholder needs into organizational goals.
• Prepare responses to government inquiries related to mining to effectively manage government relations.
• Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc reports to the Director, offering recommendations on new opportunities, highlighting critical issues, and providing strategic insight for effective decision-making.
• Review and collaborate with ERD Operations on the development of ERD strategy, ensuring its fulfillment and translating the Ma’aden strategy into workable scenarios for ERD operations.
• Manage, select, update, and drive the overall ERD portfolio of licenses, collaborating with other ERD departments in mineral resource estimation, prioritizing actions, and managing stakeholders to optimize return on investment.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience in licensing and tenement management within the mining or a related industry.
