UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team. This full-time role involves overseeing the sourcing and acquisition of goods and services essential for the company's operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.

Role Overview

The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts. The role focuses on achieving cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high quality standards. It also involves monitoring market trends, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations to optimize procurement processes and support overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize economies of scale and best practices to optimize local procurement efforts.
  • Define and communicate the supply strategy and its implications to align stakeholders.
  • Interact at executive and managerial levels to ensure cross-alignment and foster long-term partnerships.
  • Lead the delivery of savings and operating cash flow programs within assigned categories, clusters, or business units.
  • Make timely decisions, balancing analytical insights with decisiveness.
  • Develop and apply competitive insights to shape strategies that address market threats.
  • Engage effectively in maintaining external networks and continuously build alliances to enhance business competitive advantage.
  • Remove organizational barriers to deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Practice role model behavior aligned with the operating framework.
  • Manage and optimize financial and budgetary requirements as needed.
  • Identify metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing, supplier activities, and efficiencies.
  • Evaluate business challenges and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Drive continuous improvement, work simplification, and the elimination of non-value-added tasks.
  • Drive operational excellence in strategic sourcing.
  • Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies.
  • Proven experience in supplier relationship management and contract negotiation.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and cost-effective purchasing practices.
