Quantity Surveyor

About the Role

HILL INTERNATIONAL is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This full-time role involves managing project costs from the initial stages through to completion, ensuring financial oversight and contractual compliance. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or city development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimate costs, material quantities, and project timelines, while liaising with various project teams to maintain schedule and budget.
• Review drawings and specifications for new projects to calculate material quantities, costs, labor, and time requirements. Provide early cost advice, budget benchmarks, and prepare life cycle cost plans.
• Support the preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, in collaboration with clients and consultants.
• Conduct cost analysis for variations and claims, offering advice on contractual claims and disputes.
• Value completed work, arrange payments, and ensure projects deliver value for money to clients.
• Prepare and submit cost estimates and budgets, conduct studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs, and provide regular budget reports.
• Track changes in design and construction work, adjusting budget projections as necessary.
• Review and analyze contractor and supplier invoices for accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to develop cost-effective solutions and resolve construction-related issues.
• Prepare and present regular reports to management on project costs, budget variances, and potential risks.
• Stay informed of industry trends and developments, integrating best practices into cost management processes.
• Ensure continuous compliance with Hill International's Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager or supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure or city development projects.
• Proven experience in managing contractor progress payments.
• Experience in the construction of water and wastewater projects.
• Knowledge of professional project management processes and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working internationally.
