Respiratory Therapy Specialist

About the Role

Dallah Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Specialist to join its professional team. This full-time position is based within Dallah Hospital and focuses on delivering high-standard respiratory care to patients.

Role Objective

The primary objective of the Respiratory Therapy Specialist is to manage patient care effectively, ensuring the highest attainable standards within the hospital's resources. This involves executing a comprehensive range of respiratory therapeutic and diagnostic procedures to support patient well-being and recovery.

Direct Patient Care Responsibilities

• Perform arterial punctures for ABG’s.
• Conduct tracheal suction and sampling for intubated patients.
• Provide tracheal tube, tracheostomy tube, and oral hygiene.
• Administer and monitor nebulizer dosing and timing.
• Manage oxygen therapy administration and monitoring.
• Set, change, and record mechanical ventilation parameters.
• Monitor pulse oximetry.
• Deliver aerosol therapy, including dosing and timing.
• Perform sputum collection and adjust suction pressure.
• Provide transport support for patients on mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct pulmonary function testing.
• Support and monitor non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP and CPAP).
• Administer first aid and basic life support.
• Manage airways effectively.

Equipment Management and Quality Improvement

• Complete regular checklists for mechanical ventilators.
• Perform regular checks on ABG machines.
• Maintain regular checklists for nebulizers (Aero-Neb. Pro).
• Conduct regular checks on Ambu bags.
• Manage regular checklists for stored respiratory accessories.
• Complete regular checklists for humidifiers.
• Perform regular checks on BiPAP equipment.
• Develop and coordinate the Quality Improvement Program within the area of responsibility.
• Participate in patient and family education to enhance understanding and involvement in care decisions.
• Perform any other duties within professional knowledge and skills as directed by the Chief Respiratory Therapist and/or Head of Department.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Respiratory Therapy Specialist position must possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in respiratory therapy, demonstrating proficiency in the duties and responsibilities outlined above.
